Swift Transportation Does not want to pay back pet deposit. 3 weeks of phone calls yeilds nothing. Phoenix Arizona

My wife until recently drove for this company and was discharged on March 31st of this year. She paid a pet DEPOSIT of 500.00 for our dog to ride on the truck and was supposed to get half or more of it back if the dog did no damage to the truck. Well the dog didn't and now she is having to fight this company to get the deposit back. After repeated phone calls and getting pushed from one person to the other she has run out of ideas.

Is this company so cheap and petty that they have to lie and cheat drivers and ex drivers out of what they owe? It's bad enough she has to fight for unemployment benefits but why ignore her for a paltry pet deposit.

I hope she took photos BEFORE AND AFTER of the tractor' s interior.

Seems to me you might want to be able to file in small claims court or get a lawyer depending on how much money is at stake here and how the laws are in your state.

SWIFT SUCKS!

I WOULD NEVER DRIVE FOR THEM.

AND I DO HAVE A CDL, PERFECT DRIVING RECORD WITH HAZMAT ENDORSEMENT AND SOME SOLID OTR EXPERIENCE.

EVEN WORSE, IT LOOKS LIKE ALL TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE BECOMING JUST LIKE THESE SOBs

This is how Swift does business... they will cut costs wherever and however they can. Not returning deposits to terminated drivers is par for the course here. However, this is pretty much how all of the larger companies are doing business nowadays. You'll eventually get your money back but not until you convince them they can be sued for this (and you can prove it to them... good luck with that). Keep your head up... there's better companies out there (I'm waiting on 3 different applications now)

Well, w2e finally got the pet deposit back. Took over a month so we will consider this matter closed. I'm disappointed in some of the people that work for Swift that baltantly refuse to return phone calls or dont know how to do the jobs that they were put into. It's just another example of the large corporations trying to screw the people that make them money. Wake up Swift. You are the laughingstock of the industry and you dont seem to give a rip.

I wouldn't give you money back for a pet either. Because even if the pet doesn't do any damage to the truck, "WHAT ABOUT THE F*KING SMELL". You can clean and scrub the interior to death and never get that smell out. A tractor trailer cab is not big enough to have pets in. That's just nasty and you have to be a nasty a*s to have a pet on the truck. When you have to go out and walk a dog and the dog takes a sh*t, is the dog's a*s clean, the dog is all over the seats and the bed, tell me if this makes sense . It's just down right nasty. Hell no you shouldn;t get any money back, hell you need to pay more.
