I started with Xentel in 2000, in their Florida residential office as a caller. I moved from reseidential to their business to business side later, and became an assistant manager shortly after, and eventually a manager of business to business.

In March of 2005, I was asked to go to their Pittsburgh 3 office in Greentree, for 15 days of recruiting, sounds fun right? On the 14th day, I was asked to stay there to manage their business to business office, so I did, and made $600/wk salary + $200 bonus . It didn't work out for them, I was told I was doing worse than the other manager was, NO BIGGIE. So, they offered me a job in their new Steubenville Office as a residential manager, I took it, with a pay-cut, $600/wk salary, NO BIGGIE.

On August 13th, 2005, the new office opened up and things were going smooth. Except for two of our managers (who were married) decided to have sex with employees. This is against their NO DATING POLICY.

This is on PAGE 18 of their EMPLOYEE RELATIONS HANDBOOK, which states: THE COMPANY PROHIBITS SUPERVISORS AND MANAGERS FROM DATING SUBORDINATES. A SUBORDINATE IS DEFINED AS ANY INDIVIDUAL WHO REPORTS DIRECTLY TO YOU OR ANY INDIVIDUAL WHOSE JOB CLASS IS AT A LOWER LEVEL THAN YOURS. SUCH RELATIONSHIPS CAN BE DISRUPTIVE TO THE WORKPLACE, CREATE CONFLICT OR THE APPEARANCE OF A CONFLICT OF INTEREST, AND LEAD TO CHARGES OF FAVORITISM, DISCRIMINATION, AND CLAIMS OF INDIRECT SEXUAL HARASSMENT. WHILE THE COMPANY HAS NO DESIRE TO INTERFERE WITH THE PRIVATE LIVES OF ANY OF ITS EMPLOYEES AND, IN PARTICULAR, THE OFF DUTY CONDUCT OF ITS EMPLOYEES, WHERE SUCH CONDUCT IMPACTS UPON THE WORK ENVIRONMENT IN A NEGITIVE OR OFFENSIVE MANNER, THE COMPANY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO TAKE WHATEVER ACTION IS APPROPRIATE, IN ITS DESCRECTION, TO PROTECT THE COMPANY'S INTERESTS. THIS MAY INCLUDE TERMINATIONOF EMPLOYMENT FOR VIOLATION OF THIS POLICTY.

THE MANAGERS GOT A WEEK SUSPENSION WITHOUT PAY!!!!!

At the end of December 2005, we got our "bonus" structure in place. As I told you I was making $600 wk salary, the rest of the managers were getting $500 wk salary (I had child support payments so they looked out for me). As soon as we got the bonus structure, I was making $500 wk salary, and the option to make $100+ (let me see- $500 salary + $100 bonus= $600). I think I was making that before!!!!! Some bonus structure, you get what you were making before for doing the same thing. THANKS!

In January 2006 I went to take my vacation, I was told I started Sept. 3, 2003. This made me lose a week of vacation and 2% more of my earnings. NICE!!!!! As well as when I got my vacation check, it was wrong.

On January 23rd, 2006, I told my Branch manager, Brad McGowan, that I was leaving the company and the state of Ohio at the end of February 2005. On January 25, 2006, I was suspended for intentionally rudley bruping on the phone, dispositoning 1 call incorrectly, and showing callers a commercial that was "offensive". I have never been written up on this nor was I warned.

I was told to report to the office on January 27, 2006 at 11 am to see if Brad and Matt McFall, wanted to keep me or not, they didn't. After almost 6 years of service, never been written up, and traveling where they needed me, I GOT RIPPED OFF of a CAREER!

Bad experience with an interview!

AUTHOR: Bumblebee - (United States of America)

I am not at all surprised to read this because I've never heard a positive thing about this place(except the employees can get away with murder.)

I had an interview at the Steubenville Xentel a few years ago.  I went with a friend and we interviewed together, along with 2 other males.  I do not remember the man's name who interviewed us but I do remember every single unkempt employee staring at us while we sat there.  It was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. We watched a little video and had to read a short paragraph out loud from their booklet.  They didn't ask any questions regarding my job history or anything even related to the job.. but they did ask me MY FAVORITE ANIMAL AND WHY.  I was really confused and caught off-guard, said "giraffe because they're peaceful and cute."  I was later told by an employee that anyone that says their animal is "cute" will NOT get the job, because they don't like that answer.  What a ridiculous question to determine hiring!

After reading the report above, I'm thankful I didn't get hired!
