first off, i received a flyer in the mail inviting me to my 20 year high school reunion. Then i got an email, saying there was an error in the price because it didn't include the open bar. It also said I would be receiving a new flyer (which I never got by the way). So, I figured, they made the change and decided to keep the same price. Well, when I found out that they never made the change to the agreement, and that we would be having a cash bar all night long for the same outrageous price, I, along with a few others, called to see what happened and find out what they planned on doing to rectify the situation. Now, don't get me wrong... the night is supposed to be about seeing old friends and all that... and that's what's important... but they could have easily done something to make things right. They just flat out refused, saying that it was too close to the event date to make any changes. (which we all know is bullshit)So anyway...I went... regardless of the fact that they refused to help us out at all. Afterall, I did still want to see some of my old schoolmates.
Well, when I got there...The food was crappy, (i'm talking baked ziti and some cold chicken dish, a salad, and a few pies at the end of the table that i found out were there only AFTER the reunion was over) Oh, and...we still had cash bar (at which they charged $4.00 for a soda AND $3.00 for a bottle of water, 7.50-8.50 for a beer and something like 13.50 for a cocktail!!). Yes, that's right, we had to pay for water and soda. They filled our water glasses one time, and never refilled them, and there weren't even pitchers of water or soda on the tables.
They also hired a really loud and might i add really BAD DJ that played NO music from the 80's which is what we wanted to hear. They didn't have anything we requested practially AND...didn't know who half the groups were that we asked for. Very unprofessional if you ask me.
And... to top it all off... one of our classmates' husbands had to stay at home out west for a family emergency and so our classmate decided since the ticket was paid for...she'd bring her nephew. Well, once they found out it wasn't her husband, they ripped up the nametag and refused to let him in until they paid another 90.00 for another ticket. CAN YOU IMAGINE??? I mean, it wasn't as if she just broke up with a boyfriend and decided to bring someone else... her husband had an emergency for crying out loud!!! But could they make an exception to their "non-transferable" policy??? no... like they didn't bilk us for enough money already, those greedy little buggars had to get another 90.00. (Thank goodness someone there had the decency to pay for it for them, otherwise their flight across the country for what should've been a fantastic night would've been a COMPLETE WASTE.
To say that I am not happy with Reunions Unlimited and that I think their business practices SUCK would be an understatement. And I can't warn you all enough to STAY AWAY from this horrific company! you're better off organizing this yourself even though it's a lot more work. you'll have a MUCH better time for a MUCH cheaper price!
