Linda K Williams ,Linda went to court in TN and claimed my husband owed her 108,802.91 in chjld support arrearage. He was not notified of the court & wasn't there to defend himself. She garnished his Disability over 50%. Denham Springs Louisiana

My husband has MS (Multiple Sclerosis), he was retired in 1996 due to his medical condition. He only receives 60% of his income. Then in 2003, after the one child she raised, (we raised the other one) left home, she decided to go to court and state that my husband did not pay her child support, medical and private school. We did pay all of that until she moved to LA, she put the youngest son in public school. We continued to pay child support until the youngest child graduated high school.

We had the oldest son and paid for him to go to a private school, then paid for him to home school the last yr of school. We also paid for him to go to EMT school at Texas A & M. WE have been trying since 2003 to fight this, but we are on a fixed income and now she is getting over 50% of that so we do not have the money to fight her. We have paid her over $80,000.00.

She went to court in TN, because she never change theof the divorce decreee to LA. We were not even notified of the court date so we could not be there to at least defend ourselves and show what we had paid. We have proof of child support payments, insurance coverage, medical payments and etc. We do not know what else to do.

We tried the legal aid in TN, and they told us because we reside in TX, we needed to go to TX legal aid and get referred to TN. We tried that and they tod us the case was too old and they could not do anything about it. We are just at a loss of what to do next. Any suggestions?
