I went to work very ill and suffering from nausea due to pregnancy. I was not able to work in the kitchen of the establishment as the food, heat, and grease caused me to vomit. I was told by my MIC (mgr. in charge) to get a bucket and puke in it while I make the customers food. She would give me no alternative to working outside of the kitchen even though there was opportunity to work at the front counter or drive thru areas of the store. I told her I would not be able to perform the task she was asking of me and I explained to her why I could not. I began crying as she would not give me permission to go home, and she said to me " Aw, why don't we be a baby and cry about it." I signed an agreement when I was hired to work at McDonalds that stated I would not vomit and work at the same time. It is on my emlpoyee file folder. My manager and a crew person left together to go outside and smoke a cigerette and gossip about the conversation that took place between the MIC and myself. I left the store at that time telling her I was too sick to perform normal duties expected of me for the day. The MIC told my supervisor that I walked out and quit. This is a false statement. My supervisor repeatedly told me he would look into the situation and get back to me and he never did. I began calling the main office to speak with the directer of operations. I logged every call I made to my supervisors. None of them would speak to me to let me know where my job stood or when I could be put on the schedule to work. I filed for unemployment benifits and my employer filed against me saying I voluntarily quit. I then filed an appeal and a hearing took place. I won my appeals hearing because I have all the evidence showing I was in the right.

This complaint I am reporting is because a company took away my job, my income, and not only that, but this was my career. I haven't gone to college and excelled there, but I poured my everything into a company and a position I believed in. I have graduated and excelled in all the classes McDonalds put me through to become a manager. I spent all my time trying to make systems and procedures work and run smoothly at my job. I put my everything into a job that is thriving at a time when others aren't. My job wasn't taken away because of a failing economy, but only because others felt threatened by my progressiveness.

A few things here lady....Im sorry you were in a bad situation ive been there myself, but are you serious!? First off you should be considered lucky your supervisor didnt fire you on the SPOT for coming to work sick and vomiting. You should havw called in that isnt their fault. #2 you walked out and left. to a company THAT IS CONSIDRERED QUITTING whether you said you did or not. And the fact you said mcdonalds was yourecareer shows very poor judgement on your part. It should be a temporary job unless you planned to go into management which by the wayu it sounds you wouldnt have made anyway. Sorry you had personal problems, BUT you shouldnt blame other for your mistakes, have a great day ;)
