McDonalds On Nov. 23rd, 2009 i slipped and fell in this store due to an extremely wet floor , split my hand open and injured my neck and tail bone. They refused to pay my dr. bills, A very minor amt. to them. russelville, Oklahoma

While traveling through Russelville Ar. I stopped in Mcdonalds. This was around 1pm and close to several schools. Noted they were mopping the floor. I very carefully approached the counter and slipped and fell. Inoticed the floor was so wet that my clothes were very wet. There were no wet floor signs close or noticable.
I was injured and the staff did help. Mc donalds refused to accept any liability or pay my medical bills.

There's more to this story than you're telling.
What reason(s) did McDonald's give for not accepting liability or paying your medical expenses?
Also, what did the McDonald's being "close to several schools" have to do with this little mishap?

One of my really good friends also fell at McDonalds due to wet floors and no wet floor sign. She fell in Sand Springs, Ok McDonalds last year 2010 and is still fighting with them about it. When she fell no one came to help or ask if she was ok and when she contacted McDonalds they tried to say it wasn't there problem. She had to get a atty and then McDonalds atty sent here a letter instead of her atty which is against the law stating he knew they were at fault, but would like to do this out of court. She has had to have neck surgery due to this and the dr said he was shocked she wasn't parailzed, b/c of where the injury was. She still have another surgery she has to go though and McDonalds still hasn't paid a penny, so now she is suing them.

It's amazing that people fall often and just get back up, dust themselves off, laugh and move on.
But, if they happen to fall because they can't figure out how to walk on a wet floor in a store, restaurant etc., it becomes a life threatening incident, no one in the place cares or helps, their back, neck, hips and/or knees are damaged beyond recognition and - surprise - they are going to sue for lots of money because the company can afford it. They can usually find a sleazy lawyer to help too.
If the companies just paid out on customer demand, half the people (well, that may be a little exaggerated) who walk in the door would accidentally fall down and need money.
