Maby you haven't received anything from Subway because they fell off their chair when they were laughing so hard.  Seriously it is amazing how people can't seem to figure out a simple coupon.

From your report it says if you buy a Sub and Drink you get another sub at equal cost for free.  You bought a 6-Inch Meatball sub and a drink.  The 6-Inch Sub was probably about $3.50(a 6-Inch is not just half the cost of a 12-Inch).  The Drink was proably be around $1.50.  When you add in tax being charged $5.50 for that would be correct.  Had they charged you for the 2nd 6-Inch Sub your total would have been around $9.

You see the 12" Meatball sub is one of the 5 dollar foot long specials so you could of had four 6" subs for almost the same price.

A 6" meatball sub is $4.65 plus tax, and you also got a drink. So with the free 6" sub it seems to be correct that it would cost what you paid. They didn't rip you off, they charged what they charge everyone and gave you the free 6" sub of equal cost per the coupon. You ripped yourself off by not taking advantage of the footlong deal along with the coupon.

I imagine you thought the 6" sub would be half the price of the foot long but if you had looked at the menu you would have noticed that is not the case. The foot longs are a "special".. not double the price of the 6" version.

In this area a 6" meatball sandwich from Subway is $3.75. A drink would have been a dollar and change plus the sales tax in your area. $5.50 sounds about right. Two 6" subs and a drink would have been approximately $9 and change without the coupon.

If you were able to use the coupon for a footlong sub then you could have had two 12" sandwiches and drink for $6 and change.

No ripoff here. The OP got the exact deal he/she requested.

How is it that someone can't be bothered to look at a simple receipt, yet they have the time and energy to come here and fill out a complaint?   It boggles the mind.

From a subway employee I am very sorry about your subway experiance. A common misunderstanding with subway is its 5 dollar footlong pricing. Most people would assume that sense a 6 inch is half of a foot long it should be half the price. Sadly it isn't. A 6 inch off the five dollar footlong menu is 350 and in kansas it comes to 3.80 after tax. Having gotten many cupons the same as yours it is a free 6" with the perchase of another 6" and a 32oz drink. The 32oz drink will come to 1.83 after tax. So with the 32oz drink at 1.83 and a 6" meatball that puts you at 5.63. I hope I have answered your question.
