Emergenza US Entertainment is a pseudo-booking agency based out of New York that solicits bands and musical acts to pay a $70.00 fee to basically buy space to perform at various venues for "exposure". Once the company has enough victims, it uses the money received to pay various venues to use their stage facilities for a "battle of the bands" contest.

In addition, the company gets the bands to sell tickets to the events leading them to believe by doing so, it will improve their chances of getting heard by top industry leaders such as SONY MUSIC and other major record labels. The company also uses "endorsements" from musical companies like Ernie Ball for "free guitar strings" and musical equipment.

The bands are promised much, and when the shows go on, the "voting" is set up in such a way to where the band that generates the most money via ticket sales is put into some unclear ranking system, and as such, has very little to do with whether the acts have any talent. If you have $70.00 and can carry an instrument on stage, you're in.

Bands and artists who participate in this "pay for play" rip-off only demean the profession and devalue musicians who are out there trying to get paying gigs and seriously work their careers.

Every concerned musician who cares about their profession is advised to spread the word about this event scam organization who are profitting off the backs of the naive using "hope of fame and exposure" as the proverbial carrot on a stick.

Emergenza pay to play rip off!

AUTHOR: leelee - LONDON (United Kingdom)

We just fell victim to this lot at London's Upstairs At The Garage. They had no panel of judges just took money from all the bands to join (£50) Those with the most fans to attend are guaranteed to win - win what you ask?! - you get to play yet another well known venue (which you could also hire yourself & promote it) Your fans have to pay an admission of £8! that's just disgraceful and you've already paid them £50 too! The staff are cowboys, rude and unhelpful. They are not looking for talent just your money! They've also made a lot of bar takings for the venue too! I'd also like to point out that you'll only find your people at these shows and the other bands crowd if any. They do not promote the show as a live event or anything, so where does that £50 per band go? in there greedy pockets taking from poor artists who have done all the work. Believe me you do not need these unhonest cowboys! I felt sick when the twat from the company was going round all the bands taking their fans cash and then there's the unacceptable £50 fee, you're being ripped off. This is pointless and wont get you anywhere so BEWARE! we've been there ...
