I had the unfornunate chance to work a promo event for kevin kirshner and his business forerunner promotional partners. So you know --I am a former model, I have been in documentaries and on runways, so I know what a professional is and how they should act. Being on vacation in New England, I thought I would earn some extra cash by working a promotion for a day or two. Payment was promised after two weeks (not bad nor unusual for promotions work)

Kevin Kirshner was/is the owner of Forerunner promotional partners. He is scatterbrained, will not answer phone calls when it comes to finding out the status of my check. (It has been over three weeks now) He has not answered emails inquiring as to the status either.

The promotion I worked was totally out of control, no one knew what was going on and he sent out incorrect information as to what to do at the beginning of the promo. No one was *in charge*. I have never worked such a joke and hope never to again.

I am still awaiting payment for my day of work. I refuse to let go of it and will fight til I get my hard earned money. Be careful out there when doing promotional work. Many fools and idiots can state online that they are promotional experts and then scam hard working models out of their checks. If you are a company looking for a promotional company to run a promotion, use a professional business that has been around for years. They are out there as I have worked for them.

Rebuttal From 1099 Worker

AUTHOR: Kate Swenson - Seymour (USA)

My name is Kate and I have worked for Foreruner Promotional Partners for several years now and have found te company and Kevin Kirshner to be total opposite from the person the OP has portrayed.  He is fair, supportive, has stuck up for our staff numerous times w/o jumping to some conclusion based on limited information.

Forerunner is a promotional marketing company and my capaicity has been as a freelance promoter.  I've done this work for about 10 years now and occassionally try to get a girl friend without experience to join me on an assignment.  It never fails that each time I do a favor for someone they expect to be paid the very same day.

In promotions in general payment varies from company to company and client to client.  The OP sounds like either someone that has money issues and should not have taken the work or someone like my girl friends that are just new ot the business.

It is unfortunate that someone in the case of a contractor payment being delayed would take such action against a business that i have found to decent to work for and Kevin to be always a gentleman and prompt in his responses to me.  If I ever sent and email asking when payment would be coming, Kevin always responded promptly.

Rebuttal of Complaint of Cindi Chiudoni

AUTHOR: Kevin in the Berkshires - Lenox (USA)

Cindi Chiudoni, also goes by the name Cynthia Chiudoni.

Ms Chiudoni was contracted as a 1099 worker by Forerunner Promotional Partners to hand out Ice Cream for a regional bank on July 17th, 2009 -- in Groton, CT.  The promotional gig was for 6 hours from 11am-6pm.  Ms Chiudoni left her assignment at 4:30pm as reported by the associate she worked with that particular day.

On August 10th her check was cut and mailed -- the same day she chose to file her grievance report.  Anyone that wishes to contact me via our company website can do so for proof of all I have written.

As for Cindi or Cynthia I wouldn't doubt that she is a former model and as far as her demands I believe I summarized her issues as the level of this work being lower than the type of work she is accustomed to -- this was not Runway Modeling or Trade Show work - this was "Street Promoting".

Personally I find Ms Chiudoni's complaint not only without merit, I find this complaint mailicious and as a small business owner defenseless to an attack of this nature by any individual.  Ms Chiudoni signed all our Agency Agreements which are on file -- here is an excerpt of what Ms Chiudoni signed -- [You will receive payment the longer of 30 days from the date your invoice is received by Forerunner Promotional Partners or within 60 days of Forerunner Promotional Partners receipt of payment from the client.] -- all our agreements are reviewed and approved for use by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

It's one thing to use the internet but for crying out loud -- use your correct name.  Our attorneys have advised to persue legal action against this site as well as any person that files a report against Forerunner that cannot be validated by that person.

I have no issue with consumer advocacy as long as in this case someone was actually ripped off -- in the case of this complaint however the contractor was not ripped off, and received her payment in 3 weeks, which was well within the terms of the agreement she signed.
