We purchased our FIRST car with Drive Financial two years ago and like others our payment was stolen. They harrassed and continue to but now they don't call us they call family memebers that they claim we used as references and we know we NEVER would. We were in between moves and bank accounts so we sent in a money order. However our money order never made it. They would never listen to us and did not believe us when we said we sent the payment in. We fianlly had to get confirmation from the Post Office that it was cashed however it was cashed by one of their employees. We faxed this information to the at least 5 times and never got responses and they have yet to credit our account and we continue to get late charges on top of the ones that were not our fault. We are so tired of arguing with them that I gave up. I told my husband I'm so done with them....I'm tired, burnt and can't handle the stress any longer. I want them to come get the car I'm done. I'm to the point where I don't care what happens to my credit anymore because that would be a less stress matter to handle then to deal with them. I have no other options....we've worked so hard to be good people and tried to talk to them and fix the issue but they just treat us like crap, hang up on us and leave us with the threats. We would be willing to join anyone with a law suit and would start my own but have no clue where to start. I feel like I alone would have no chance against a large company.

I feel your pain but bailing on the car is NOT gonna help you it will make you worse off. My suggestion would be to find out what your payoff is and possibly look at trading it in or "refinancing" the loan. I know lending requirements have become stricter but its worth a shot. Just document all your conversations and transactions should you need that in the future.
People have talked about lawsuits for years with these people and nothing has nor will it get started or happen. I have been reading this forum for 2 years and witnessed the injustices BUT no suit ever materialized. Face it these guys are subprime lenders "we" were a risk, they are managing that risk the only way they see fit....harassment to get us to pay. The way these folks will be hurt is by protesting to the dealers that use them to underwrite the loans. Sadly these subprime lenders will be even more prevalent given the current and likely continued decline in the economy.
To be honest I did not have any issues with Drive posting payments my issue was the fact that with several months of payments it was funny how my balance was more than when I opened the loan. Truth be told I was just happy to dump them and be done with it all.
Good Luck!
