I continually have trouble with Fry's on rebates.  For the most part I have stopped buyibg anything from Frys that has a mail in rebate.  However, they had such a good deal on a bluetooth headset that I thought I would try one more time.  When I received the rebate receipt it said: to obtain required rebate form go to:

http://images.frys.com/art/rebates_pdf/6340731_093010.pdf

I tried every way I could think of to get a rebate form to come up.  Always the same answer.  We have no record of 6340731.

It appears to me from past experience Frys goes to great lengths to prevent their customers from sending in for their rebates.  The last time I sent a letter to their main office and finally got a response and my rebate.  I am a business consultant and i can assure you, that other on principal it is not worth my whil to pursue this.  The only reason I do is to make sure that there putting their customers through the anquish they call we can make them pay by creating as many problems as possible for them.

Are you sure?

AUTHOR: Flynrider - Phoenix (USA)

I clicked on your link and it came up with a rebate form for the following models :

HBM-800, HBM-210, HBM-570/Silver, HBM-570/Dark Blue, HFB-500 and HBM-900 HEADSETS (the “Qualifying Models”)

Maybe you should try again, or try from a different computer.

I got to the form also..

..however, the first time I clicked the link..the page came up blank. So I pasted the link into my browser, and the rebate form appeared. Then I checked it again by clicking directly on the link..and it worked.

Seems more of a glitch for me, then a scam. Sometimes with links..you need to try more then once or by entering directly.

This is a PDF as well..so you may need to update your version. especially if your PC is operating on windows 95/98.

If you still can not get the rebate form..you should probably uninstall your older Adobe Acrobat and then reinstall the most up to date version. It is free and won't take long.

Also should note...

This particular rebate is from the manufacturer. So Frys would have nothing to gain by having you go through any great lengths to prevent you from sending in this rebate.

You have until Sept 10th to send in for this rebate, and it must be within 60 days of purchase (post marked). I noticed when I tried again...the page came up blank again. So I hit the refresh icon on the top toolbar a few times and it eventually appeared. Seems my Adobe may have issues as well. But I can get to it. The thing is although I can not get to it every time, I do not get the "no record" message that you did. Strange.

The rebate is from LG so if anything is being intentionally made difficult ...it would more likely be LG then Frys.

I would agree with rebates..that depending who is offering it is probably factoring that a percentage won't bother. But if you want the rebate..you sometimes need to jump through the hoops.

The next hoop is the fight if the rebate never gets sent. But LG should be good for it if you follow the terms.

No problem here...

AUTHOR: Edgeman - Chico (U.S.A.)

I had no problem getting to the rebate form. In Firefox, I right-clicked the link and opened it in a new tab. I also left clicked the link and it opened without any troubles.

I have to disagree with the OP's conclusion that Fry's is trying to keep customers from their rebates. This specific rebate is from LG and there is no benefit for Fry's to block access to the rebate form. That is especially true since the rebate form is on other websites.
