I am a hard working individual, who takes a lot of pride at being a female business owner who is always searching for ways to better my business, expand my company, and offer employment to others in my community. This was what I was researching when I was made a victim by the unscrupulous practices of The Grant People.

Thank God I finally found a place to share this information. I also understand that since my actual involvement with this company, they have changed their name to escape their existing clients' complaints and demands (mine included). When I located this site (Rip Off Report), I also found the report written by "Matt" (report #254197) This person was employed there at the time I was being scammed by this company. I wondered why he just disappeared and I was never able to reach him again. I appreciate the fact that as their former employee, he realized the wrong they are doing, and has written this report.

In short, I was contacted by this company in June of 2006. I fell for their scam, and I was ripped off to the tune of over $9,000. I was an existing business owner, wanting to expand my business. They fed me all the information I was waiting to hear. Once hooked, they convinced me to change my original intent (business expansion) and apply for a "non-profit" grant...the bogus 501-c that the other individuals have reported on. In this convincing argument, they explained that I would be able to have enough grant money to expand my existing business also from the funds. I fell for it, and the rest is history.

After many long months of absolutely nothing, and many phonecalls to them in the form of my complaints, I received a few copies of Letters of Request to potential prospects for the grant funds. Most of which came back with an answer of, "we do not grant funds to individuals". I made many calls which were never returned. I tried to locate information on the internet for help, and continuously hit dead ends.

I have all of my records, in addition to a pretty accurate mental recollection of the events. I would like to particpate in a Class Action lawsuit against this company if there is EVER one started. These people MUST be stopped. They are cunning and deceitful individuals who prey on REAL people who are trying to better themselves in this economy. I would appreciate ANY information on such a class action. To all individuals out there - DO NOT give any money to these people. You will never see it again, and you will NEVER receive a grant in any shape or form.
