USGCS Federal Grants Ripoff New York New York

I was contacted by this company regarding a Federal Grant loan, which could pay off my student loans and/or obtain a mortgage. I thought the company sounded legit at the time. I asked a lot of questions, such as how did they get my phone number and information regarding my student loans. Because I was researching online regarding federal funding on student loans at the time. I also asked them if they had a web site and Michael Lewis said no, which was the guy I was talking with. He said they obtain their information from government agencies. He also said I could check them out with the Federal Trade Commission and some other government agency but I don't remember the name now. I also tried to research the company through the BBB, however they didn't have any reports on the company at the time. This happen last December of 06.

Michael told me that it cost $449 to process the paper work for filing of the grant. He said it takes about 60 to 90 days before I would receive the information because it is very detailed research and they need to make sure the all the paperwork is in order for filing. I had an option to send the money in small payments however he stressed paying before the end of December to ensure placement of my request for the loan or I would have to wait another year before I could request it again. So I sent the $200 first and a posted dated check for the remaining $249.

I have not received the paperwork or any calls regarding the grant filing. The phone number is no longer valid of course.
