Walmart Money Card Green Dot FEES, FEES, & More FEES Internet

Beware the start-up costs of these Pre-Paid MC and Visa Cards.  

They may not inform you but besides the $3 "One-time Temporary Card Issuance Fee, Plus the $3 Money Loading Fee there is a Monthly Maintenance Fee of $3 which will be charged to your first deposit (load).

This means before you get to use the card for the first time you are already out $9 !!!
The $3 Maintenance Fee is charged the minute you call to activate the personalized card, NOT after you have used it a month.

The store personnel may not take the time to explain this to you when you buy the card, and you may think you have $3 more in the account than you actually do due to this blatant RIP-OFF! 

These companies prey off the most vulnerable and those least able to defend against predatory service providers like GE Money Bank.

Probably the best example of this is the $1 they charge you just to check your balance via ATM.  Then they will charge you another $2 to withdraw your own money from an ATM along with whatever the ATM owner charges.
Yes, you can avoid the ATM fee by getting cash back at the checkout at most stores but unless you keep a written log of your balance it's likely you may be paying the $1 fee to check your balance.

These fees add up quickly and over the course of a year it is not uncommon for them to total in the hundreds of dollars.

I bought this card to make a one time purchase over the internet to avoid having foreign exposure to my bank debit card.
I was not made aware of the $3 Monthly Maintenance Fee being assessed at the time the card was activated and had to incur another $3 Loading Fee just to make a one-time purchase.
The $9 total is quite a steep price to pay for the security that MC and Visa fail to provide customers doing business over the internet with foreign companies.
