Fry's Food & Drug Feels like working for the devil..or Hitler. Sierra Vista Arizona

I work for Fry's Food in Sierra Vista, and I'd like to encourage more employees to speak out about their experiences here. I started out as a cashier, and my managers loved me. I got along with everybody, and never had issues.

Then, I was asked to step in temporarily because one of the overnight scanning girls (for those of you outside the bizz, scanning are the people who work overnights when the store is closed to hang tags and signs when prices change) got pregnant, and was taking leave. I obliged, because I was single, living alone, and had no reason not to. I was a night owl anyways.

Several of my front-end managers warned me that the scanning coordinator (not quite a manager, but more like a supervisor) was really hard to work for, and that she would make life living hell.

I laughed it off, because I'm a really big people person, and get along with almost anybody, but this woman is IMPOSSIBLE to work for. She's insulting, rude, and calls people "Dumb b*tch" or "Dumb f*ck" depending on their gender. Of course, she only says this behind their backs.

Then there is the night manager, Andrew. He is the person who knocked up the girl whose position I took. She was 17 at the time. He's almost 40. I was told my boyfriend could not work with me at this store, and yet they both still have their jobs. Makes sense, RIGHT?

He's rude. Every night, every 15-20 minutes, he gets on the intercom to yell at the night crew. He makes me print and hang his tags, claiming it's "policy" but in reality it's because he is lazy. Two nights ago, the printers were down, and I was in the middle of asking him what he'd like me to do in the meantime, and he SHUT THE DOOR IN MY FACE.

When I spoke to another associate who used to be friends with Andrew, he told me, "Andrew doesn't like most white people." WHAAAAT!?

I already spoke to the store director about my supervisor, and now I'm afraid that talking to him about Andrew will make him think I have an issue with higher-ups, even though I never once had an issue with front-end managers as a cashier.

Keep in mind, I got cornered into staying in this position permanently because if I went back to cashiering, the people who are getting MY hours would complain. (I'd be making 40 back on cashier, I'm making 25, barely, as scanning.)

Also, Steve, the store director, has acknowledge to "turn a blind eye" to Andrew and the scanning girl's relationship. How messed up is that? I'd encourage anybody else getting screwed at this store to form some sort of alliance with me. I'm quitting soon and I think it would really send a message if we teamed up.
