YOU SHOULD CALL THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR OWN IN-HOME PRESENTATION!

LTT sales rep Brad Healy came to our home with his very well planned, canned and high-pressure "schpeel", claiming he didn't want to change the way we ate, only make it better! Claimed their prime quality meat was restaurant quality - equal to Ruth's Crisp.

Written claims were, "We want all our customers to be 100% satisfied" and that this was, "The Finest Gourmet Food in the World". When we suggested we would like to think it over before buying, dear Brad was outraged! Why wouldn't we want to feed our family better and save money? Besides, he would have to make a special trip back and we had nothing to lose -- everything was guarenteed! In order to get 25% off of every meat order for life, we had to buy "their" top-of-the line commercial freezer and Power Protection Plan for $2000.

After delivery it was noticed this Imperial freezer was 2 years old. We found the meat to be only OK (sometimes good) and quality never consistent. We gave the food a good-faith try, but the steaks were mostly thin and tough, ground beef (supposedly high quality ground steak) was greasy and grisly, and pork chops boney and fat. The kids would not eat the chicken nuggets or hot dogs. Not at all what we were used to and definetly not the best we had ever eaten!

A photo showing the date of manufacturer (03/02) of our "NEW" almost $2000 freezer delivered 12/03 by LTT GOURMET FOODS

My sister-in-law, who lovingly prepares our dinners, apologized more often than not. This meat was not even close in taste and texture to what she bought at Costco! I wrote a 3 page letter, listing our concerns and expressing disatisfaction. Since what we got was not what was represented, I asked that they pick the product and freezer up and refund our money (less food consumed). LTT did offer to replace the meat, but after much thought we declined: even if we got all Filet Mignon, we still would not have what we intended and thought we bargained for.

A fax today from Bill (LTT Customer Service) confirmed that the owner's (Tony Perchemlian, Pres.)position is: we didn't cancel within the 3-day cancellation period after we placed our order, they are enforcing "the contract".

Since we hadn't even seen the freezer or received our order, why would have canceled then? OVER AND OVER we were assured that once their meat was in our hands we would be thrilled. Well, we are not and they are not standing behind their promises. Seems that without further legal action, we are stuck. We referred another family member (before delivery) and they have all the same complaints.

BEWARE!

LTT Gourmet Foods (Chatsworth, CA) SICKS IT'S ATTORNEY ON CONSUMER -- THREATENS LEGAL ACTION FOR DEFAMATION

Letter from attorney Ronald S. Parsons (Woodland Hills) claims the reason we are disatisfied with LTT's service is "nothing more than buyer's remorse". Why on earth would anybody want to return a product they were satisfied with and cost less money?

The freezer that was delivered (on 11/20/03)with the food HAS a 02/02 date of manufacture and was not delivered in a crate. Attorney says we were provided with a NEW freezer. Since our Rip-off Report indicates the freezer was two years old, we must make a retraction forthwith "to avoid legal action". I will be providing a photo of the decal which indicates we did NOT publish a false statement, which may damage his client's business -- that we were telling the TRUTH!

What's more, Mr. Parsons states that, "If you pursue any legal action against LTT as stated in your letter, LTT will vigorously defend itself".

LTT claims that it remains willing to replace or exchange any of the items we are not satisfied with . . . what would they replace it with? More of the same or something better . . . what we thought we were buying in the first place?

BOTTOM LINE: Consumer, in good faith believes that they were misled re claims made about LTT's meat/product and consumer better NOT try to take legal action to right a wrong.

Marcia, send Attorney Parsons an invitation to dinner!

These lawyers drive me nuts with their "defamation" claims and lawsuits. This attorney is writing a letter for money and has probably NEVER tried the product.

This is tantamount to false advertising where some movie star tries to sell you something he/she does not even use.

Send Attorney Parsons a dinner invitation and ask him to at least sample some of the product he is trying to defend before attacking with legal warnings.

If he accepts (not likely), serve Attorney Parsons some of that product and show him the freezer manufacture date while he is there.

See if he agrees that this product is as good as it was represented to be.

Also, how can the three-day-cancellation rule apply to something you have not even seen during that period?

Perhaps you SHOULD consult with your own attorney about this and make sure that he/she gets a sample of the product for reference!

LTT GOURMET FOODS FINALLY MAKES GOOD!

After months of wrangling, our contractual relationship with LTT has been terminated under conditions acceptable to both parties. I must say, Bill Rueth, Customer Service Manager, was polite at all times and really tried to work with us.
