I received a call from Joshua Colon, a representative of Service Foods, Inc.  He was a good friend of mine or so I thought.  He told me he started working for this company that sold meat and vegetables and thought it would help with my diabetes. I agreed to let him come by to do a presentation. He came by on 1/18/10, the date I signed the contract. The food was delivered on 2/4/10. I should have followed my gut and not signed the contract but he promised me everything was on the up and up and that I would love the food.  He was very pushy. He said the food would be enough for 2 people (my mom and I) and that I would need to get the freezer to be able to get the food discounted.  I agreed to it (thinking we had a history of friendship) and didn't think Josh would lie to me to get me to sign up.  Well he did and I can't believe how gullible I was to trust him.  These people are rip-off artists. The sale tactics are pushy, vague, and go around in circles to keep your mind off the fact that you are paying $5,000 for a $1,000 freezer.  I was constantly told bold face lies.  I was told I needed to purchase the freezer to guarantee the quality of the food and to get a good discount. He emphasized that it was just to help me (even though I never knew how much the food really was and got the turn around every time I asked).

Josh asked me what method of payment I was going to use. I told him I would use my Amex card.  He took down the no. and wrote it on the contract.  They delivered the food when I wasn't home. My son accepted and signed for it but expressed to me that this didn't seem like enough food for me and my mom.  Josh had assured me it was enough for 2 people. When I got home I was floored. I could've put the food in my own freezer!!!!  I didn't need to purchase a freezer from them. I contacted Josh via email on Feb. 8th and told him I didn't want to go through with this and would like for him to take the freezer and the food back. He said he would see what he could do to help me. I didn't realize that they only gave me 3 days from the date the contract was signed to cancel.  How can you cancel something when you haven't received the food yet?  Well I've been back and forth via email/phone calls to no avail. He fabricated the contract. He told me the order was for 6 months of food and it’s actually for 6 orders!!! I couldn't believe he had done this to me. After numerous emails back and forth, I received a letter in the mail stating that my contract was purchased by Jefferson Financial. I emailed them about the situation to no avail.  Service Foods filed a summons/complaint and now I have a court date of Feb. 20, 2012. I can't believe this! How could Service Foods sue me when they sold my contract to Jefferson Financial? I found out that Jefferson Financial belongs to the same owner of Service Foods, Mr. Keith Kantor (who I also emailed and he told me he was sure something could be worked out). Please note that Service Foods never billed my American Express.  They sold my contract to JF and they kept sending me invoices that I refused to pay. I have this eyesore freezer in my garage (which is causing my electricity to soar) and I still have all the food in the freezer. I have never touched it. I have found numerous complaints on Service Foods, Jefferson Financial, etc. They also did business as Quality foods & LTT Gourmet Foods, JLS Financial.   They are doing business under several entities. Please look into these people.  They need to be stopped!  I can't believe that have been allowed to get away with this unfair business practice for so long. I even found out that Jefferson Financial does not have a license to conduct business in George.  This company is not a legal entity within the State of Georgia (there is no legal business entity with this name filed with the Georgia Secretary of State, Corporation Division), according to that Licensing division for the State of Georgia a Finance Company that finances any one for over three thousand dollars is not regulated by the State of Georgia, they would be regulated by the FTC. Upon calling the FTC the FTC does not show them with an RN number which according to them (FTC) they have no information on this company.  Are you kidding me??  What is going on?
