CrateFurniture.com Homespun Fashions Another one ripped off by Crate Furniture and Mr McCracken Petersburg, VA Internet

I had spent a few weeks searching on the web for replacement cushions for THIS END Up furniture. I should have spent the time researching the integrity of the companies as well. On October 29,2007 I placed an order over the phone for cushions totalling $1,222.45. I was told that shipment would be around the 2nd week of December. My visa debit card was charged while I was still on the phone and the order was confirmed. December came and no shipment. Made several attempts to reach company by that same 800 number and no one would return my calls inquiring as to the status of the shipment. I left numerous messages on their voicemail and again no one got back to me.

I waited through January and made more calls and still no response. At this point I began to do some consumer research and uncovered the complaints in this site as well as with the Richmond, Va. area Better Business Bureau. Again, my mistake was NOT DOING MY HOMEWORK FIRST! I have done alot of business via ebay and other web vendors and had never had a problem. I allowed myself to get complacent.

I filed a complaint with the BBB and they did their investiagtion and basically closed the matter with no resolve. I also attemtped to get the money credited back from my bank but another painful lesson - purchases with debit cards (even VISA) MUST be challenged within 90 days. So by the time I was concluding I had been ripped off that window had passed.

Given the volume of these incidents I cant believe that some consumer authority somewhere hasnt shut down their web site as they obviosuly continue to find new victims. I have seen McCrackens rebuttals about the fabric mill closing etc. If that was all it was why then couldnt he have been up front and contacted us and told us his situation and that he would make good. I would like to hear from some of these people here who supposedly have gotten refunds to see if his rebuttals are accurate or not.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!!!
