Levitz Furniture Defective Furniture, Warranty company wont fix Huntington Beach California

2005 I purchased furniture from levitz. The salesman talked us into purchasing the GUARDSMEN Warranty because it covers repairs for "everything" with the exception of pet damage. He also talked us into paying the $200 delivery fee, vs us picking up the furniture, as Levitz had a deal to refund the money. 2 or 3 days later they file Bankruptcy (which of course they would have known they were doing for months in advance) and we didn't get a penny refunded!

2007 Couches are ripping at the seams and the back of the couch has disengaged from it's nails. The warranty that I paid handsomely for, will not cover the couch ripping at the seams as there was no specific incident causing the damage. I paid handsomely for a stain remover warranty basically! They will not cover what they call manufacturer defects!

So I called Levitz. They apologized for their sales rep providing us with false information. The couch would have been covered for up to 365 days by the manufacturer. So go to Levitz, pay $1000's for furniture that will fall apart within 2 years and no one will fix it! Be sure to throw in the $100's of dollars more for a CRAP warranty product.

Then if you're lucky, you'll get in on one of their "special deals", free shipping, that they now don't have to refund because they are in Bankruptcy! WOW what happen to ethics, why would you still offer this if you KNEW you would be filing bankruptcy and no one would get their money back!

The funny thing about this whole thing is that i've been buying couches from them every few years for many, many years! I thought buying the warranty would stop this vicious cycle of replacing furniture every two years. the salesman confirmed that it would. WAS I STUPID!
