Mar-Stan's sold inferior quality unfinished furniture ripoff Montgomeryville Pennsylvania

We purchased 2 unfinished maple bookcases for a total of $795.00, asked for instructions on how to finish them, purchased the stain at Mar-Stan's and stained them according to the stated instructions. After applying the stain we could see obvious flaws in the wood, including what seemed to be drip marks from the glue used to fasten the fixed shelf. There were "planing" marks on some of the surfaces which showed up as dark streaks.

We took pictures of the shelf unit to Mar-Stan's. Their first response was to try to blame the stain we used. We told them we used their stain. They then blamed our prep work. We told them we followed the instructions we had been given and they denied telling us what we had been told. They insisted that the flawed areas were "natural variations in the wood". No matter how much we argued with them, they refused to budge. They did not even offer to come out and look at the shelf unit to see if there were indeed flaws in the wood. We are stuck with 2 shelf units which cost us $800.00 (plus), took hours and hours to finish and still look lousy.
