NORTH CAROLINA COMPNAY, HAYNES FURNITURE ripoff VIRGINIA BEACH Virginia

My husband and bought a dinng room set from the north carolina comp. This was our first major purchase for our home. It was the best looking peice of furniture we had.
we had the set insured for 5 years for a small fee. it was supposed to cover all damage made to the set. it did not work out that way.

we had our set for less than 8 months when one of the chairs fell against the china cabinet and the entire back of the chair broke. First thought that came to my mind was thank god for insurance. Not So!

I contacted the inurance compnay where they told me that the chairs were not covered!! What!!! I could not believe my ears. But don't worry they said, it is still under warranty and the furniture company has to fix or replace it.

Ok better news, so I call the furniture compnay explain the situation and thay say that they will send somone out!! wonderful!!

The man takes two minutes to look at the chair and says that we had to have hit the chair on the floor and beat it up for this to happen. I was appalled.

First of all my china cabinet sits 3ft. away from the table and I have carpeting thru out the home. They were clean cracks and no other marks.

Besides this, the table is now only 1 year and 2 months old and it has chipped cracked and peeled evrywhere some parts of the table are not even wood. We paid $3500 for this set and thought this would be life long set. Not so!
I contacted the maufacturer to see if this set was solid wood and they told me it was. So then I contacted the furniture company to let them know about the cracks, peels and to find out if the chair would be repaired. NO!! Even though it was under warranty they could not fix it, neither could the insurance that we paid for. Our dining room set has been a heartache, we never wanted a new one or money just for them to fix the problems. Yes my chair fell against the china cabinet but, solid wood should not have split the way it did.

Please Please do not do business with these companies, they are both affiliated I bought the set from the north carolina company but the finaning was done thru haynes!
