My husband and I had placed a down-payment on our sofas for the amount of $1,830.56 on July 5th, 2007. We were told that we would receive a fabric sample and once we'd agree on the sample color, it would take them an additional 3 months to send our sofas. We received the fabric sample and called to confirm our acceptance. We then waited an additional 4 months and I called again to see what was taking so long to deliver our sofas.

We received an apology, and then the representative promised that we'd receive them in the next month. When that didn't happen, I called again that following month, and the excuse was that the fabric was out of stock and the company was waiting for the fabric we've chosen to arrive. Once again we were promised that we'd receive our sofas the next month.

By March 13th, 2008, I got fed up with their false promises and my husband and I decided to pay them a visit. This was when we realized that the company either went into bankrupcy or was simply fraudulent, because not only did the elevator not stop on the 4th floor, but also, ther was major construction noise coming from the floor. At this point he and I realized we have just lost our 1,800 + dollars. My husband called his credit card company, Citibank, attempting to get a refund, and was told to file a written report which is now in progress. We are very upset, and would welcome any comments or actions anyone is considering taking who had a similar experience with North Carolina Furniture.
