I went to the Cactus Car Wash on Rivers Avenue to get my car cleaned. I was approached by a sales person working for The Windshield Specialists. I did have a small crack on my windshield thanks to our beloved interstate here, and I figured since he was allowed to work on the Cactus Car Wash lot, everything was on the up and up.
My own insurance company told me that they would not honor their (Windshield Specialists) warranty, but I still had my guard down since they were being allowed to work at the Cactus. So, like an idiot, I went through the process of allowing him to proceed with the process with my insurance company.
Later that day, while back at work, I was speaking with one of my coworkers. The topic somehow popped up about me having my windshield replaced by The Windshield Specialists while having my car cleaned at the Cactus Car Wash. She informed me that they replaced her windshield two months prior while she too was at the Cactus getting her car cleaned.
After hearing ALL the problems she had endured, I began to worry more and more about what I had done. Another coworker approached me and stated he had already lodged a complaint to the manager at the Cactus Car Wash regarding The Windshield Specialists, and since they refused to do anything, he is now taking his business elsewhere.
This coworker provided me a business card from another glass shop and I quickly called and explained my situation. The gentleman from the other glass shop came to my office, and within a few short minutes, called my insurance company and assisted me in dropping The Windshield Specialists. Not only did this company assist me, but they also were able to assist 4 of my coworkers, all of which are now former customers of Cactus Car Wash.
From what I have learned, and this is all more like hearsay, but The Windshield Specialists is a rather new company who has had to change their name quite frequently. Also, they ONLY use the cheap after-market glass as well. The ONLY reason that this company is allowed to solicit their business on ANY Cactus Car Wash is because they pay top dollar to be there. So, it is rather obvious that the only thing the management of Cactus is concerned with is the money, and NOT their customers. I know I will NEVER go back to Cactus as long as they allow this sort of questionable activity on their lot.
If you care anything about your safety at all, DO NOT allow this company to even look at your windshield, much less replace it! Also, please voice your concerns with the manager at Cactus. Hopefully, with enough complaints, they will be forced to remove such trash from their lots.
