If I understand your report, you meet the federal poverty guidelines and you wish to marry a chinese woman and bring her back to the states.  Also, your bride is over 10 years your junior.

They did you a favor.  Do you have any idea what happens to many of these overseas brides after they enter the US?  Many LEAVE their husband once they have that magic green card and look for GREENER pastures; someone YOUNGER and with MORE MONEY.  I've seen this numerous times when I was in the Air Force, both in Asia and in Europe.

Further, these women often times collect government benifits, welfare, medicaid, free schooling, etc.  As someone who is at the poverty level, I think it's safe to say YOU won't be paying for these benifits.

The guidelines for bringing a foriegn bride into the states have been tightened.  IMO YOU, the sponsor need to be responsible for supporting this person and any children that might come from such a union.  As someone who meets the poverty guidelines, how do you suppose you're going to be able to accomplish that?

I think you would be much happier if you find someone LOCAL.

Oh, another point comes to mind;  what's in this for you?  Are you being PAID to marry this woman and bring her to the US?  Don't get angry that I ask, I have seen this happen many times as well.  The immigration service views this as a marriage of convenience (hers.)
