City of Sedona, Arizona Financial Services I am being forced no choice whatsoever to connect to a new sewer line I have a very fine sewage system of my own an aerobic system cost about $10,000 political corruption ripped off and scammed Sedona Arizona

We are senior citizen who purchased our home in 1997 using savings money for down payment, etc. We budgeted ourselves to live within our means not knowing we would be hit with a sewer connection "Capacity Fee" September, 2002 in the amount of $4,350.oo plus our paying about $3500 to have us connect to the sewer.

All this will be followed by a monthly service fee of about $42.00 (exact figure to be determined). All this being caused by the Sedona City Council/Financial Services. A great deal of advice has been handed down to seniors to "Plan for your future." Our house has been an affordable home for us, but it appears will not be in the future! Our aerobic system is a mineature actual sewage system, very efficient and no monthly fees. (Only cost is for a supply of chlorine tablets about $60 per year.)

Our system cannt pollute groundwater, a ruptured sewer can! We own our property, does the city have the right to tell us how to dispose of our waste. They cannot tell us we have to have a tile roof! Surrounding towns, Camp Verde, Cottonwood are not told they have to hook up to a sewer. The new law should be made for the new home buyers, not for those home owners who have systems that are "grandfathered in!"
