First its shale drilling and it is the most dangerous toxic business in the world .The major players are Republican shoot offs of the Dick Cheney war machine.They send toxic chemicals into our drinking water.There was a short movie documentary about this last year that garnered awards. If you want to know the truth you tube it I am living in nc now I have lived in 14 states.I was born and raised in Abington went to College in Erie,Pa and owned Co's in Harrisburg,Lebennon Reading Pottstown Easton Allentown and Bethlehem.Also Bronx Brooklyn Long Island Yonkers West Chester in NY.I mention these areas because the water table is being destroyed for the sake of money.There is only one reason why he would be fighting this.And you do not have the right answer.Watch the movie.

Shale. From the documentary I saw the company has to supply bottled water to entire towns due to the damage to the water tables caused by this new Shale industry.
Who wants to see their home values drop to nothing? You don't you think being able to put a match to your kitchen sink faucet and light it, is good-do you?
The original report is very transparent propaganda and vitriolic. Just like Marcellus gas drilling-it smells!!

This "report" is nothing more than blatant astroturfing. So many of the points read like they came out of a 501c(3)'s playbook.
Calling the congressman a "RINO".
Telling the congressman to "NICK MICCARELLI, STOP PRESSURING THE PRIVATE SECTOR WITH MORE TAXES, AND LEAVE OUR JOBS ALONE!"
These are the hall marks of a politically motivated and professionally organized campaign and frankly this does not belong on the rip off report.

As a former oilfield production supervisor I know how "fracking" sub surface rock can impact surrounding rock layers and porous upper layers of soil rock mixture. When fracking an underground area there are certian ways to "loosen" the porous rock formation. This is common in single well applications, BUT in the shale gas producing areas the drill shaft is drilled first vertically and then horizontally. The fracking is done in the horizontal shaft and in doing so the surrounding shale is easilly cracked at desired locations. The problem of "unintended" rock fracturing is not predictable. These unintended cracks can run for miles if the substrate is under differential pressures, such as earthquake zones,. The REAL problem is these unintended cracks, they could run into your water aquifier, or into your water well, or into your municipal water supply. What would you drink then? Bottled water? Bottled water to take a bath, to wash your car, to produce your food? This republicrap even though he is not intersted in slowing the industrilization of your underground treasure, his surtax on the gas should be used to litigate an addition to the drilling contract. If fracking is used to"loosen" substrate rock then if ANY oil associated chemicals or oil products infiltrate the water supply then the oil company has to provide all the clean water for all concerns until the situation is relieved, FREE OF CHARGE. Taxing the production of oil will never stop them from needing to have people to do the work, this is not a problem as you anticipate, they just mark up the product and actually make a little more money because of it. These greedy corporations will never stop an endeavor just because of the slight increase in cost, they just charge more. Your republicrap representive just wants a share of the proceeds to play with, is he going to use the money to support mental health hospitals or increase funding to higher education, or to stop the tolls on nesserrary highways, I don't think so. Vote him out anyway!
