I recently got back into shooting and collecting guns and decided it was time to make some purchases of relatively inexpensive firearms to add to my collection of shooters. For weeks I researched and contacted companies about a Russian made SKS 1945 rifle. I decided to choose Moving Target mainly because they offer an online purchase and they can be reached via phone and email. Now The main deciding factor was reached in a pre-order phone call where I was able to speak with a live person who sold me on the ability contact them if a customer service problem ever arises, “Edgar” led me to believe that dealing with his company is a better decision because I could contact a real person and not just a email address as with the other companies I was looking into doing business with.

To me all was well and I proceeded to provide credit card information and place the order. I received the gun as promised and was very happy with the product; it appeared to be as promised. Approximately 3 weeks after purchase I was able to take the gun to the range to do some shooting, it performed flawlessly and I was happy until I got home and started cleaning the gun. I noticed that some heavy wear and peening of the metal occurred during the short shoot (80 rounds). This wear is excessive and quite destructive in nature. I contacted the vendor and was asked to provide photos and I did, I was under the impression he would make it right and I was satisfied. During this call I also placed another order for a more expensive gun to show I was in this for the long haul and also to show good faith as a customer.

Moving Target was only too happy to take my second order and pretend to care about the first orders problem. Immediately after the second order the company refused to respond to any questions about return, or getting the gun repaired. I even offered to pay shipping both ways for them. My problem is considering the nature of their business and the products they sell one would assume they would want to make sure their customers are safe with safe equipment. It seems very unprofessional to cut and run like they have with this order. I will be contacting the chief firearms officer about this complaint in the near future and telling them what has happened. I was always willing to be helpful and never once asked for my money back, I just wanted to have a properly functioning gun as I was led to believe I would receive initially.

The loss of money is small, less than 300 dollars, I am not too concerned with that. The fact that a customer reported a safety concern and problem with their products and they have zero interest in making it right is scary. Until they make this right I have to warn all potential customers buy and shoot at your own risk from Moving Target. They, as it appears to me, could care less about your safety and the safety of their products.

Hi and sorry for confusion, the original report shows the address for Moving Target as being in the USA, this must have been an error on my behalf the shop is located in Alberta Canada. They can be found quite easy with a goggle on Moving Target.

Ok so you got the gun, that is good. Have you had a chance to look at it? I think I left the cleaning kit in the stock of it by accident. Do you see how much slop is in the receiver? the bolt carrier moves a full 3 mm or more to the right infront of the gas cylinder housing and this is why the carrier is hammering into the receiver as it is. You will also see heavy wear on the groves that hold the bolt carrier on the left rear of the receiver. It is just flopping about in there. I shot it 80 times and this much dammage happened, I trust you understand now. I wish I was not the first to have a problem, but it is what it is,,,,,,sorry.

these two emails represent our status as just a day or so ago, with the help of the BBB this buisness decided it was time to get intouch with me and firm up on returning the products. I was under the impression all was well and was changing my opinion as stated in this report about them. Then this email below tonight.

Mr xxx

I just came across some of your slanderous talk over the Internet and I will be contacting my Lawyer to pursue slander charges .

Your rifle has been sent to my gunsmith to look at it and assess the problem, before I do an exchange. This could could take some time !! No I would not take another order from you.

As can be seen I was happy with them and showed this in updates on the BBB complaint. I was considering being a customer again then this email above. Full of threats and nasty. I have had enough.
