I have been a customer of this salon for three years. I was never an employee, and I am not a beautician. How do I know? You're absolutely correct, I don't know. But, the girl certainly wasn't workin' in Nina's shop for free.

If anyone makes an appointment with Nina, look behind you to see exactly who's washing the relaxer out your hair. You may assume it's Nina, when it's actually Keisha. Neither one of 'em ask your permission.

Instead of hair being on y'head, it'll be "Hair Ondagroun'"

In October 2007, I went into Hair Underground thinking they could relax my bangs for me. They've been at that location for a long time so I thought they would know what they're doing. I met Nina and she applied the relaxer for me.

The whole time she was talking on her cell phone doing her side business of selling foreclosed homes. Bad sign! She occasionally asked if my scalp was burning or tingling. I said a little, but I have a really high tolerance to pain. She left the relaxer in my hair too long!

Her assistant finished off the process and took a lot of time applying different conditioners and giving me a scalp massage at the sink. I was wondering what was taking so long. To my amazement when I finally saw myself in the mirror, all of my baby hair along my front hairline was burnt/over-processed and had fallen off! My skin along my hairline was also tender and red.

My stupid *** paid in full and a put in a nice tip. I didn't realize how bad the damage was till I got home. My hair smelled burnt for 3 days, after I would shower whole strands of hair would be in my brush, just lots of breakage. And now 5 months later my bangs are still unmanagable and weirdly too straight.

Do not go here! They seemed nice, but really distracted from what their real job was, doing hair and making the customer happy. I will never go here again. Be warned!

i went to this salon about 2 weeks ago and at first I was very concerned about what was going on. First off I made a 45 minute drive to get there and my appointment was at 10. Nina had a flat tire and did not tell any of her clients so we were all waiting, this is unprofessional because at my hair salon in sacramento my hairdresser would call me if she was going to be even 10 minutes late, or she told someone else who was at the salon that she would be late. We all had no idea. I did not get my hair washed till about 11:15. And it was by that woman Keisha. I assumed she wasn't all there but I did not want to be rude and make a scene; i needed my hair done quick and i had work in two hours and I knew that I was already going to be late. Anyway, the girl Keisha washed my hair and did some scalp treatment and left it in FOREVER and had me sitting twice as long. She was more concerned with staring off into space and trying to sale some gospel cd and getting food for nina rather than washing that s**t out of my hair. She ran the blow dryer through my hair for like a minute then I sat for about another hour. Once nina saw that i was bitching on the phone and telling my mom about how i wasnt planning to come back she came and told me that she would be with me in 5 minutes and that she was sorry for the wait. she did someones full weave before she got to me. And while she was doing it, she was on the phone and talking to other people about things that sounded pretty sketchy. she also kept burning me. I understand that things can get tough if youre only one hair stylist but you dont need to have people who are mentally challenged doing your work, if your work is that tough then maybe you should find another occupation
