Lowes Royal Oak I ordered a door - they called and said it was in. On the same day I took my handyman to pick it up - they lost it then found it and the door had significant damage. The mgr was supposed to call that night but never did. HoustonHouston Texas

I ordered a door at Lowes hardware store on March 3rd. They took my husband's credit card and charged us. They said it was because the door had to be built and would be there in 2 weeks.

Today, Fri., March 16th I received a call stating that the door was in. That evening, about 8:30 pm my husband, our handyman, and I went to the store to pick it up.

(1) They couldn't find the door. I was sick so our handyman told us to go ahead and leave and he would pick up the door for us. He's done a number of household projects for us, we have been pleased, and he lives in our subdivision.

(2) Half way home, the handyman called to tell us that the door was significantly damaged in two places - by then it was after 9:00 pm and the store was closed. The clerk then apparently took the handyman's cell phone and proceeded to say she was sorry and there was nothing she could do about it and would reorder the door. I asked what happens if

(a) the next door is damaged and

(b) why do I have to wait another two weeks AGAIN
I also told her they had my credit card number and were delivering faulty goods. I felt this was fraud. She had no answers - said she couldn't reach the manager for me to talk to him. I left my home number for him to call but did not hear from him. During this time she's burning up the handyman's cell phone minutes.

(3) I instructed the handyman NOT to accept delivery. He agreed - did not think it was a good idea either.

Now then, Lowe's has my husband's money and my credit card number. The receipt states that there is a 15 day waiting period for cash back FOR THEIR MISTAKE!!!

There is NO door, and NO refund right now.

This is not the first problem with them. About 1 + years ago we bought a dishwasher there and had it installed by their subcontractor. The installer left all the paperwork in the dishwasher when he ran it to make sure it worked. Yes siree, a Darwinian candidate because my warranty and instruction book were all ruined. When I complained to the store, the clerk didn't want to be bothored and told me to get it from the manufacturer.

This company is NOT trustworthy and NOT doing good business.
