24 Hour Fitness
I am getting really fed up with the lack of adequate shower facilities at the Santa Cruz branch. I am referring to the disabled stall which I must use. There were shower curtains, but now they are gone - I have no privacy and I have to put a garbage bag over my walker to keep it dry. Some of other men check me out – I try to ignore it, but it makes me really angry.
People that use wheelchairs cannot wash off the soap because there is no nozzle on a hose plus their wheelchair (an expensive piece of equipment) would get wet from the lack of curtains. I have really bad balance, I have to stand to wash off the soap and I almost fall every time I do.
I am informed that there will be no hose/shower head because they keep breaking. That happened at Spa Fitness because they used a cheap hose/nozzle combination. They replaced it with a high quality hose/nozzle combination and had no further problems. If you buy cheap equipment and it fails why are you surprised?
Anyway you have changed the shower facilities from one where I felt safe taking a shower to one where my safety and privacy are both compromised. There are noticeably less men using the showers. I get the idea that the showers are so annoying (no privacy), no place to hang their towels, members are going elsewhere. When University of California Santa Cruz starts at the end of next month I will go elsewhere too.
I would never recommend 24 Hour Fitness to anyone.
Above is the actual letter I hand delivered to the Santa Cruz 24 hour Fitness.
