Future Fitness ripoff West Berlin New Jersey

I went to cancel my membership in Feb 2005 and was told that I would have to see a manager and managers are in the facility from 10-6P. I asked what was the catch. Did I have to hear high pressure tactics like i did when I joined to discontinue my memebership. THe girl at the front desk acted like a 'mushroom'. I could not make an appointmend during the times they designated until three months later June 13 2005). At that time I was told that I had to sign a form that I agreed to pay for an ADDITIONAL three months in order to cancel That would mean my membership would need to be paid for July Aug and Sept. and then my membership would cancel Sept 30.

They wanted additional information regarding payment for cancelling and I refused to give an additional information as they already had a credit card number on file !

I signed the form under duress with alot of exchanged words and since this country has freedom of speech I decided to exercise this on their form and wrote that I did not agree with their policy. Then at that time THEIR OWN MANAGER refused to sign my form and told me that my membership would not cancel until he signed it. He refused to sign since I altered the form. All I did was express my opinion in the 'comment' section of their own form!!!! but since they did not like the comment they refused to sign.

So I sent them letters via registered mail regarding my displeasure with their tactic. The told me that my cancellation was invalid and that I owed them money. So reluctantly, I hand delivered a check to the very same manager for remaining balance of my membership (sept 2005) and since it said that if this check is cashed they were in agreement with my sept 2005 cancellation.

Well apparently they have not cashed my check and they still claim that I have not fulfilled my membership and if I come in again and sign a new cancellation form my membership would cance three months from now!!

So here is where we stand--- at a stand off. I would challenge anyone from the media to write to me via email to further discuss.
