In a nutshell, here is what I had to go through with Premier Fitness:
1) Facilities were terrible: I just want to confirm what other people have been saying about this gym. The exercise equipment is old, the lockers are rusty and the place is a dump.
2) Terrible customer service:
Difficulty obtaining cancellation: I had signed up for a 12 month contract at Premier Fitness. I wanted proof in writing that I had no intention of continuing beyond my contract. So, I went to the gym in order to obtain my written proof or a "cancellation receipt" indicating I had no intention of continuing beyond 12 months. What did I encounter? First, the customer service reps just gave me a runaround ... saying that I needed to speak with a manager or what not. After dragging on for a while ...I finally was able to obtain a cancellation receipt.
High Pressure sales tactics: Second, these people keep trying to sign you up for things. I understand that this is a business and needs to keep itself operational, however, it just reaches a point where enough is enough.
3) Attempted to overbill me:
This is the most important and the point that angers me the most. The customer service reps gave me assurances that I wouldn't be billed after my contract expired. I had all along suspected that they were not genuine, and sure enough, Premier Fitness attempted to charge me. Fortunately, I had placed a stop payment order at my bank in order to prevent withdrawal. I subsequently shut down my account in order to prevent further unauthorized billing.
A few months later ... I get a letter from them claiming that I owe them $$$ for my membership which was supposed to be terminated.
In summary, the problems with this company are numerous and widespread. Simply type in premier fitness complaints into google and you will see a wide listing of customer complaints. Please be careful when dealing with this company.
