I had been with Freestate HMO for over 2 years and had encountered no problems with them what so ever... That is until April 8th, 1999! That´s when they decide that since everyone had been suckered into signing up for another year, they could just arbitrarily introduce a formula into their plan.

This was no ordinary formulary though, this one made everything
outside of aspirin, not the normal wholesale price, but 50% above the wholesale price. In essence, I get to subsidize the HMO through my prescriptions as well as through my paychecks.

Here are some examples: Claritin-D $66.00 for 20 tablets (this is normally with NO PLAN $44.00!), Pulmacourt ´´over $100´´ for 100 mcg. I would actually make out BETTER with NO HMO than with these folks.
