Four years ago I bought into a health Ins. company, called MAGA Life & Health Insurance Company. "AKA" (A HealthMarkets Company) There old name was NASE (National Association Of Self Employed) There affiliates are CARI MARK / EYE MED / FIRST HEALITH NETWORK The sales rep. sold me a policy, She did NOT sell or represent the Company. Just gave me a sales pitch and sold me a poor deal that will cost me over $30,000 to $50,000. She represented a $5,000 deductible in a major Med. policy , Only to find out the the $5,000 deductible does NOT cover Dr. visits or 2nd. opinions. I had a out patient for the samething the out patient deductible was $1000.00 this does NOT cover Dr. visits or 2nd opinions. The HOSP. & the DR. must be in the Ins. NETWORK (what a game) Then the INS. Co. only pays what it wants to then we are billed for the rest. I have over $30.000 worth of bills that the Ins. NOT coverd. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CO.

Almost sounds like you did not read your policy or understand it. I do not work for Mega or Healthmarkets but have 4 years in the health insurance industry experience. I find that people are "to busy" to read their policies. It is a contract and you are entering into a contract. Make sure you understand what your getting. All health insurance (that i know of and sold) had networks, some more restrictive than others, and Doctor visits are covered in riders not a general right of having the insurance.
Looking at your complaint too looks like you got a discounted policy with minimal coverage. Cheapest is not always the best and you get what you pay for.
Note: I am a laid off insurance representative and I feel that the individual is responsible for not knowing what they are getting.
