RxAmerica another rip off Salt Lake City Utah

Based on the estimated prescription drug cost at CVS pharmacy, posted on the medicare.gov Plan D site on Dec. 16, 2007, and confirmed by one of their "800" phone agents, my wife signed up for RxAmerica's Advantaage Freedom Plan. Then the estimated full monthly cost for her prescriptions posted on medicare.gov was $195.94. Her monthly out of pocket prescription expenses before entering the "coverage gap" was estimated at $70.09. At $195.94 a month the total annual cost of her prescriptions would keep her well below the $2510.00 gap threshhold.

Since July she has been in the "Gap/Doughnut hole". Why, because the actual full monthly cost of her medicines is $485,52. Had we known this, we would not have signed up with RxAmerica.

As with the previous writer (Abad98eb), numerous calls to them, including to a "supervisor", pointing out the price differences did nothing to resolve the diiscrepency. Their response is, prices quoted on medicare.gov are merely "estimates" or from another source, an average of all network pharmacies. We are now stuck with paying the full inflated cost for her medicines and their policy premium for the rest of the year, $400.00 a month more than planned if I stay with CVS pharmacy.

Since the start of Plan D in 2006, we have had coverage with Humana, SierraRx, and First Health and Life. We have had no problems with any of these companies, drug cost were essentially as they were posted on medicare.gov.
