I was diagnosed with Stage 1C Ovarian Cancer on 07/20/2010. I had an Abdominal Laproscopy with complications due to the size of the tumor 5.5 cm, and all the adhesions present in my pelvic cavity. I have been denied my Short Term Benefits by Sedgwick CMS because they say my physicians medical documentation did not support a full 6 week recovery period.
My physician submitted all op, pathology, office notes, his treatment plan and his reasoning to Sedgwick CMS verifying the need for the extended recovery time, and on August 12, 2010 I received a phone call from a very nasty supervisor by the name of Erica who of course refused to disclose her last name, that my claim was denied.
I of course went off....She actually said these words to me "We don't have a record that your ovaries or fallopian tubes were removed". I was totally speechless. My next question of course was..."I guess my physician was bored that day and decided he would poke 3 huge holes in my abdomen for no reason at all". I was then told by Erica the nasty supervisor that if my physician submitted more supporting documentation...they very rarely would review documentation submitted on a case that has already been closed. I have had to sell my stock, empty my 401K just to pay my rent and buy food for 2 months because Sedgwick CMS doesn't care about people...they only care about money, and pleasing the huge corporations they work for. I also contacted the HR department of my employer, and I was told there was not anyone I could contact with my complaint that oversees the workings of this company. What does that tell you?? I believe they're in it together...whatcha think???? The American people have to come together and fight these unscrupolous companies. They bank on overwhelming victims so they will not fight.....We have to take our country back, and hold accountable the theives and morally bankrupt CEO's that are ruining this country. Too many wonderful people have given their lives to protect this country and all that it stands for...we can't let this continue to happen. We are the American people, and if we stand together and fight......these Corporations will crumble and fall.....and the CEO's who allow this type of behavior will be in a jail cell with Big Bubba!!!!! What a wonderful thought!!!!
