#1 Owner of Company

Mr Fuqua makes statements that may be his perception, but are not in fact reality; first of which is that the Better Business Bureau did work on this and found there was no basis for complaint. As I am personally mentioned in the blurb that Mr Fuqua wrote, I want to provide the truth of the matter as presented in actual emails that I am copying: in this email chain you will see that Mr. Fuqua acknowledges that a cancellation is to be done a certain way and that it makes sense, but that he does not feel he should do so. As the owner of a company with many customers, it is important that I deal with everyone in a consistent fashion, and that is what I do. At Gold's Gym our passion is to provide our members with a great work out experience while guiding them to their desired results; however, it is not possible to make everyone happy. I offered to freeze Mr. Fuqua's account so he could get us his cancellation paperwork, but he states he would rather go to collections than go to the post office and send something with certified receipt. I let him know that I will work with him in a number of ways, but the cancellation must come from him the same as from any other member. He then threatens me with actions such as "ripoffreport.com;" as I care about my members, I am probably one of few who would take time to rebutt this, but I do feel people need to know the truth, and the truth is below. Best, Eddie Dail

I have owned and operated health clubs for 19 years; you are within your right to do what you feel necessary.
I will not waiver however.

I am looking foward to a more fesable answer to our ongoing problems.. if we cant find a resolve im sure it wouldnt be too difficult to get a petition started from one of the several NATIONWIDE orginizations I am affiliated with.My worse case scenario is that my fiance and I will have this racked up fee sent to collections. I am personally hoping it can be..

I appreciate your frustration.
The answer is simple; mail with certified receipt a request to cancel and a cancel fee to 237 E Davis ST, Suite 200, Culpeper, VA 22701
This is what is on your agreement and it is simple. You have even acknowledged that below.
If you have any other certified receipt, I will even take that.
As for Tripp, he is my business partner and does a great job running the club; there are perceptions that are individual to each of us, and after doing this for 19 years, I have learned to just follow a consistent course.
Once you follow these steps, all will be finalized.
Eddie

I am writing this in response to your message about the cancellation complaint..first off I was under the impression that trip was the owner not you..he has been the one not returning either one of our several phone calls reguarding our ongoing battle with abc financial over canceling our accounts...we were told by the staff at golds north roanoke to send a copy of our new lease to the office in culpeper..in which I called them and we were told faxing the info would be fine..I then contacted abc who said no info was given to them and we would have to send certified mail..annoyed we complied this has been going on since march!!!...after contacting abc...they said oh we looked it up and your not 50 miles out of the area which we are...that was the 2nd excuse of about 50...in which I faxed a copy of my mapquested adress which should have been completley unesessary but I still wanted to make sure I got this straightened out...next they said oh you didnt give your 30 day written notice certified mail...this is obviously abc financial prolonging ANYONE from cancellation...as far as tripp is concerned he has been aware of the situation for months now and hasnt even bothered to return me or my fiance's phone calls..id say that constitutes being "blown off" wouldnt you say?.I understand that your contract states certain procedures to cancel a membership..understandable..but abc financial has been completley impossible to deal with...and as far as this issue is concerned there will be SEVERAL other avenues I will continue to take steps in insuring that this dosent continue happening to myself my fiance or anyone until this issue is 100% resolved I will continue to presue my every option. ...... Sincerely Brian
