   The majority of them are like this.   The more you sign up for, the more the salesperson makes.

  I'll bet you were.   The problem was that you didn't read and understand the forms before signing.  By the way, another word for "forms" is "contracts".

  It's not up to a salesperson to explain a contract.  They are not your lawyer.   Even if they do explain it, can you trust their interpretation?  Of course not.

  Bottom line.   If someone hands you a contract, do not sign it unless you fully understand what you're getting into.   Once signed, you're bound by the terms of that contract.   Unless they made you sign it at gunpoint or used some other form of duress (being pushy doesn't count), it's unlikely you'll be able to get out of it.

 It is entirely my fault. I was under the assumption that the LOA in Saginaw conducted its business identically to the LOA in Bedford, which is ultimately not true.

 The gym rep called me today and has agreed to lower my monthly rate for 6 months to help me during this financial stress. and remove the tanning entirely.

  I guess I am most angry at myself for not being more observant. But I have learned a very important lesson: dont sign anything without reading it entirely.. or allow any business to draw from your account monthly, if you cant pay in person.. dont do it.

  and .. if you whine and complain and throw a fit and make a spectacle of yourself in the gym.. they will work with you.

   Most service contracts have a provision for cancelling.   It will generally cost you something (some substantial monetary penalty) to get out of it, but it may be cheaper than paying through the end of the contract.

   Go back through your contract and see if you can find the cancellation provisions.  Even though they told you it is non-cancellable, most contracts really do have this and most gyms won't tell you about it.
