I purchased a laser hair removal package about a year ago and have about a total of 5 or 6 sessions out of 12 (with a 12 session guarantee.)  Over the past few months, since the summer, I have been calling to schedule appointments and was told the laser machine is broken but would be fixed.  I then went to the mall the day of my appointment and the doors were locked (I did not get a reminder phone call).  I have continued trying to call but there was never an answer.  Now, I find the phones have been shut off and the website has been removed.  The business has obviously closed without notice and have just taken my money and run.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get anything back from them?  I invested almost $600 on this and see absolutely no results.

Don't expect much.

AUTHOR: Flynrider - Phoeix (U.S.A.)

Generally, when a business goes bankrupt, any money they owed you is gone.

If the business is being liquidated through a bankruptcy, the court will order all of its assest sold and that money will be divided up between all of the company's creditors.

If you're willing to spend the time, you can check with your county clerk to see if the company has filed for bankruptcy and have yourself added to the list of creditors. In most cases, this is not worth the time with a small business bankruptcy. They usually end up paying out a few pennies on the dollar, if anything.
