Clear Haven Center almost deadly outcome chertsey, Quebec

My son was also a resident of Clear Haven Center.  We too got the panic phone call stating the center was closing and what do I do? 

My son was also dropped off at the airport with no money.  If if I were to get him a plane trip home over the phone he did not have the money to check his bags and there was no way to wire him money.  I had no choice but to catch a flight from Nevada and get my son.  He was 50 plus days into the program, but not complete.  I prayed for his sobriety every moment I was on that plane. 

We too are out the money we could have paid another facility.  We had to pay the entire amount upfront before the center would accept him. 

The way the center handled the closure was very unprofessional and negligent.  You can not send folks in rebhab out into the world unprepared. 

My heart goes out to all the parents who are dealing with this turmoil. 

So far my son is fine, thank God. 

I am looking to join with other parents and loved ones who have felt the fall out from this center and hold them accountable. 

My son is trying to get some parents contact info so we can speak. 

Again, my thought and prayers are with all of you. 

 I too was a "victim" of clear haven. However this particular person was my room mate. It is very sad to hear this situation as he is a great person, good friend, and understanding. What this facility has done is beyond belief. Many of the clients were no where near ready to step out into the "real world" and continue life when they have only been there for a short period of time. Not even a quarter of the way through.

How could a facility do this knowing what kind of problems these clients have and just throwing them out to the air port and saying good luck???? Many people spent tens of thousands to be here for a full 90 day rehab program and some where only there for a couple of weeks if they were lucky. Clear Haven was more than happy to take their money. That is about the only thing that mattered to them it seems like.

I don't really know what else to say that this whole situation is unbelievable and I am still in shock as I am writing this. Good luck to all of my fellow clients and everyone I became friends with in there. I wish everyone the best.

 I was a client at Clear Haven Center and a friend of your son. He was the only one there from Maine. This is the first i have heard about what happened to him and i am absolutely horrified. I am so sorry. i want to express my deepest sympathies to your family.

I am disgusted with Clear Haven Center. Their sudden closing and the way they dealt with it is beyond unprofessional, let alone completely unethical. i have many of the clients who were at CHC as contacts on facebook and have created a facebook group so they can connect and maybe organize to get answers from CHC!!! Again, i can't express enough how sorry I am about the tragedy that has inflicted your family. My prayers are with you. i think i speak for all the other clients at clear haven when i say, your son is an amazing guy with a beautiful spirit and we all enjoyed his company. If possible, could you post an update on here of his condition if anything changes. i hope and pray that he comes out of this ok.   

My best friend went into treatment here in 2009 (for 3 mths) , she came home dec 2009.  Was dead jan 2010.  Something was very wrong at that place.

They told her parents that doing "one oxycontin" was not considered a relapse so they couldnt help her!! and she was dead weeks later.
