They are trained to be dishonest here. If you are harmed by an employee or doctor of Washoe Medical Center or Lifeskills (Behavioral Health), watch out because they are only out to protect themselves legally and not out for the patient. (A human resources employee verified this fact to me)They denied me service at their Lifeskills section due to GOSSIP in which they violated my confidentiality. Then they concocted a huge story to cover up for their employees who were also operating illegally without the right kind of license.
These people were Norman Miner, Dr. Thekekkara, Dr. Broadhead, Jo St. Peter. Also, they employ BAD DOCTORS who neglect your health. Dr. Miyagawa is one of them. You have no protection from any of these unethical people whatsoever, because the Nevada Board of Medical Examiners is rated one of the worst in the country for disciplining doctors. The in-house "patient advocate" complaint system is a total joke. Their job is to find any way to cover for the employees who do illegal things, and to protect the hospital legally and threaten you if they even think you are going to sue. But you can't really sue in Nevada because the state has capped malpractice claims and juries are afraid to give damges. You have no protection for health care in Nevada, so the most important thing you can do is to always bring a witness with you when you access health care services with this unethical hospital.

Complaints have been made to the State Department of Health, Nevada Disability and Law Center, Governor's Consumer Advocates, Governor Kenny Guinn's office, Health Insight, and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid in SF. All refused to investigate this, which is corruption and favoritism toward WASHOE HEALTH SYSTEMS. Norm Miner and Jo St. Peter are being investigated by their licensing board for operating outside the scope of their license, but I don't expect anything to come of it.
I'm so glad I have moved out of Reno, after being there 20 years. I had to leave some family there, but I feel safe medically now and in my health care. Many, many doctors in Reno play head games with you. Anyone who is dependent upon them and in bad health is out of luck. More to come.

Reno and Nevada already have a bad reputation in the national media; a talk with home insurers confirms people and businesses are fleeing Reno and Nevada. These shocking behaviors by Reno businesses and Nevada public employees give a further black-eye to Reno and Nevada which are increasingly becoming and known as A Blighted Ghost-town and State. The Washoe Health System and Norman Miner, Dr. Thekekkara, Dr. Broadhead, Jo St. Peter, and Dr. Miyagawa have been notorious for years for their laziness, incompetence, corruption, extortion, blackmail, civil rights violations, abuses, perjury, fraud, false documents, and sewer cleanliness yet have never been held acountable for their illegal and unethical behaviors due to corruption - they pay bribes to each other and public employees.
