This company used to be a dealer of Ionics water conditioning equiptment . For about 15 yrs they reprinted a manual to benefit themselves by stating the conditioner was specifically to use potassium to soften the water . All softeners used salt and this could separate them from the competition. Since then potassium costs have gone through the roof .15 yrs ago potassium was approx. $8.00 per 40 lbs bag. Now it is approx. $30.00 per bag and they are telling people to convert to salt( which has always been around $5.00 per 40 lbs. bag) they would have to buy a "sodium conversion kit" at a cost of $350.00 . Or they could purchase a new "updated" system( the new dealership they are affiliated with now) that uses salt for approx. $4000.00 .
this is disgusting and needs to be brought to the publics attention to stop this from happening to unaware consumers. they have done this to over 10,000 customers from buffalo ny to syracuse ny including rochester ny.
if you have had any dealings with this company please post a complaint . If you are skeptical this can all be verified by the manufacture at Ionics or Puronics .
They also claim to test your water at a labratory for bacterias and other contaminents ... they dont have a lab and are only trying to get into your house for a pressure sale.. beware these water testing racks are at Home Depots and Country max stores.
