INCOMPETENT ROOFER CREATES DEATH TRAPS

I am filing a complaint against the following roofer because of the serious problems he and his roofers created.

Mr. Check and his roofers created large holes in the wood
sheathing that were hidden by covering them over with shingles.
Anyone stepping on these dangerous hidden holes could trip or fall through, causing serious injury or death. Arnold Check and his people also roofed over the fresh air vent for the gas furnace and water heater. This can cause carbon monoxide poisoning. He also roofed over the kitchen stove air vent and the laundry room air vent.

In addition the following was found:

Improper installation of wall tins resulted in kitchen
leaks.

Old rubber boots were reused on the plumbing vents,

resulting in leaks.

Reused, improperly installed, flashing and tin singles
resulted in chimney leaks.

Untrimmed flashing covered some gutters causing rain

water to bypass gutters.

Defective shingles were installed and obvious at time

of installation.

The ridge vent was poorly installed. Areas were cut

unequally and debris was not removed, which reduces

the effectiveness of the venting.

Mr. Check is a master salesman. He has a way of making you feel very comfortable trusting him and working with him. Even when things go wrong he is very good at smoothing things over. Unfortunately his persuasive skills masks his inferior work.
