Ok, first let me say sorry that I have this posted as anonymous but I currently have a couple friends that still work for Measurecomp and I dont want them fired. Which I have no doubt they would do faster then good ole Max Berlin could eat a Double Whopper with extra Cheese.

Ok.....here are some of my experiences working for the monkey of a company Measurecomp.

1)When I was first hired I was told I would get $16 a measure. For a couple months I was getting only $12. Finally after complaining and threatening to sue, my pay was increased to $14 per measure. The when I said something to my market manager about still not getting $16 he said he would make up the difference with "trip charges" and of course they never showed up.  Then, after my per measure was increased to $14 low and behold I stopped getting paid extra for zones, extra rooms and hard surfaces.

2)I was told that my average round trip route would average 100-150 miles a day. Well I was stretched out so much that I was never under 225 miles a day! Quite a few days a month I was pushing 300 miles. Now I know that I agreed to drive a lot for this job and I knew that Measurecomp did not provide a company car, this I understood, what I didnt know is that they DO NOT give you ANY MONEY for mileage, gas, or wear and tear on your car (ie tires, brakes, repairs). I was spending about $20 a day just on gas!

3)While Im at it they also DO NOT pay for your tape measures or levels and they make you pay them a $500 deposit on a very used computer that you have to use. They used to not keep track of your hours worked at all until they got sued. Now they sort-of keep track of your hours and pay ot, except Measurecomp DOES NOT pay you for the time it takes to get to your first job, the time it takes to get home from your last job, the time spent doing your route or the time spent making phone calls to all your customers to set a appointment. They also REQUIRE you to have a cell phone but DO NOT pay any part of the bill even though you have to have a unlimited plan to cover all the minutes you will burn through.

4) I was told you get a week paid vacation but the way it works you DO NOT start accruing vacation time until AFTER your first year the it accrues at .77 hours a week. Then after you hit 50 hrs accrued it stops accruing again until after you use it.

5) Health Insurance.......LOL......WHAT HEALTH INSURANCE? Not offered

6) Retirement? 401k? ..... HA HA Yeah Right! Not offered

Well, thats about all I can think of right now.

Im a little sad that this job did not work out. The basic job its-self is a great job. I loved it! I just wish Measurecomp was an honest company (Its problems seem to go from the top down) and was a lot more fair with its techs. Hard to make a living off of $14 per measure and then subtract all of the considerable expenses.

I wonder if Home Depot knows how Measurecomp operates and if it would even matter if they did?
