Park Place Apartments Poor management/Fraud Birmingham Alabama

Park Place Apts, in downtown Birmingham, AL are one of the biggest rip-offs I've ever seen. As a former tenant, I know! I lived there just one year, obviously NOT renewing my lease. In that one year I experienced....Late-night fire alarms....which cannot be turned off manually (short of using a hammer and bashing it until it goes off...which is exactly what I did...my kids were asleep!), the fire department had to come. Also, the manager there now, Debbie, or Debra, whatever her name is, pretty much scams most if not all the tenants she can. They tell you your monthly lease is (for example) 700/mo....but the put it in the computer as 600/mo....profiting 100.00/mo. ....hmmm what else, oh, she has 'relations' with pretty much any public figure, even tow-truck companies. She will tow your car (especially on a good night if you have friends over....or if there is a concert near by....or if there is a program at the neighboring school) and get a 'cut' of what the tow company makes off you. If you have a maintenance problem, don't expect it to get fixed for days....if not weeks....I had ants in my apt for a week before they brought in WALMART bought ant killer stuff. My friends apartment was completely FLOODED out by the crappy plumbing work the slapped together and subsequently her apt still reaks of stagnant water to this DAY. She ALSO has ants...to this day...they never really completely go away.

The Birmingham News even did a segment on how crappy it was. LOADS of people have complained to the Better Biz Bureau and web-sites like this. Also check out 'Rants and Raves' on Craigslist...lots of opinions on this place there as well. Park Place is a joke..and a dump. Looks nice from the outside, but the real craftsmanship that was put into it sucks. The whole place is one big SHAM! Do NOT rent from here, especially under its current manager!! RUN!!
