Gus, there's an old saying....

AUTHOR: Ken - (USA)

Nothing's sure but death and taxes and it's pretty much true.

"Iknow i owe taxes on my Property and i was on a payment plan.Icould pay the last payment, due to other bills..."

What OTHER bills could possibly be more important than making your property tax payment?

"PEOPLE TAKE A STAND FOR WHAT YOU HAVE WORK SO HARD FOR!!!!!!!"

What legal basis would you and others have for "taking a stand?" Oh yeah, you could join the "Occupy" movement.

The way the property tax system works is, what YOU and others don't pay has to be made up by the ones paying their taxes. The city has commitments to many expenses, including salaries during the year.

You WON'T win this one.  Sorry for your hard times, but protecting your home by paying any bills due, ahead of all others should be a priority.

Why would you want to stay?

AUTHOR: Inspector - Tobyhanna (USA)

If you cannot find steady work and cannot support yourself and make a decent living, why stay?
I don't get it.  By staying there you put a burden on the taxpayers making it difficult for those that have jobs to live there.  Even animals move to greener pastures.

Taxes

AUTHOR: Flynrider - Phoenix (USA)

One could make an argument that having to pay taxes is a ripoff, but you wouldn't get very far.

It sounds like they tried to accomodate you with a payment plan and you were unable to stick with that.   Wanting to pay is not good enough, particularly for someplace that's cash strapped like Detroit.

Sorry you're having to deal with this for a second time, but at some point you've got to ask yourself if you can realistically afford to own a home.
