Vivint Vivint-- APEX home security Vivint did not have a technician that could INSTALL THEIR BASIC SYSTEM, and I had to pay the price for their incompetence!!! Provo, Utah

We initially had Apex service and liked it. We were customers for 4+ years (well beyond the initial 3 year agreement that we signed)Then we moved, and was going to transfer service to our new home. We called Vivint to schedule technician to install our new system and they give us the typical 3 hour window to install ( not a big deal-- I expected that). Is what I didnt expect was that Vivint didnt have a "qualified Technician" ( their words not mine) to install our requested system. The interesting thing is that we ordered their bottom of the line- no bells and whistles system. We had 5 different appointments scheduled, and 5 different times we were "Stood Up". After 2 months of no service I called the "Customer Service" department to cancel my service. I was informed that I could cancel my service, but I would have to pay the full amount due until my contract was up. So I basically was supposed to pay for no service for 10 more months (again, we were well beyond the initial 3 year service agreement). WHAT A SHAM!! VIVINT STRONG ARMS YOU INTO PAYING FOR A SERVICE THAT YOU DONT HAVE. STAY AWAY!!!

I'll bet your contract says....

"...after the initial contract term, service must be cancelled within 30 days prior to expiration or it will be automatically renewed for 1 year terms."  It's there, mine has it. Be aware of this when your current 1 year term is up to cancel if you need to.

I agree with you that there's something a little wrong with them not having anyone qualified to install their system.

Good luck getting this worked out with them...I like our service with them and we're in our 2nd year.
