Since American Home Mortgage Servicing Inc. (AHMSI) started charging for online payments, I sent a check (surely it costs more to process checks)! When I checked my account info it noted my payment had been received on 9/17, one day late, thus charging me a late charged of $82.17. Problem is...my bank posted teh check on the SAME DAY (9/17)!!! I called my bank and they said it was physically impossible for AHMSI to have received the check on 9/17 and get it back to my bank on the same day!
It gets better...my bank checked the routing info on the back of the check to determine the above info...NOTHING LEGIBLE, making it impossible to view any tracking/routing info.
It gets even better...I called AHMSI and they insisted my payment was late. My bank called to dispute their 9/17 posting date and AHMSI REFUSED TO TALK ABOUT IT, stating they could not talk about my account with my bank. BUT...when my bank inquired about the missing routing info on the check and the posting date, AHMSI STILL REFUSED!!!
WHAT CAN I DO??? I am SO angry.
