First American Home Warranty simply defrauds its policyholders, in my experience ripoff San Ramon California

On July 3, I called to report my air conditioner was not working. I was told a technician would call later that day to schedule an appointment. I took off time from work (a whole day!) to be there -- nobody showed up. The temperature was 92 degrees.
On July 4, I called and the customer service rep (very helpful - she said "sir, I looked it up and the weather report only calls for temperatures of 89 degrees today") refused to send anyone out because it's a holiday. She encouraged me to call back tomorrow.
This is the third time I've had a run-in with First American Home Warranty. The first time, they sent an inept contractor who fixed a toilet, but caused a hidden leak that resulted in $1,700 worth of damage to my bathroom.
The second time, the problem reoccurred within days of the repairman "fixing" the issue but FAHW refused to do anything about it, saying it was between "me and the contractor."
In my opinion, this company is built and based on fraudulent actions, from the policy they write to the customer service they deliver to the incompetent contractors they employ.
If anyone is considering doing business with, renewing with, or working for First American Home Warranty, let me tell you that I believe they are dishonest, unprincipled cheats and crooks. If you are a contractor, do yourself the honor of saving your reputation and do not affiliate yourself with them.
Do not do business with them, under any circumstances.
