American Home Shield Accurate Air Conditioning Sends a bum to destroy my A/C, Internet

I called AHS about my a/c not cooling right. They send you to the same place regardless of what you do. With a wait time of 20 minutes or more.

They told me in Texas these people had 2 days to get in contact with me. They are in Katy Tx. and I am by Dallas. Wow only 350 miles away huh. I complained immediately because this was unecceptable. Tough we will call you and be out. Well! Thats customer service.

I got home about 7 Tues. and message on a.m. saying c/b by 8 or miss out on appointment on Thursday. I called and got a.m. and accepted. I asked for a confirmation as I would have to stay home from work. I recieved nothing until this guy shows up out front Thursday morning and calls me from out front. He is in an unmarked pickup with a headlight and a accident fresh in front of it. Is this ______. Yes Had wrong address on work order. What a suprise. I let him in and he says doi you have 60 bucks. I have a credit card. No check. lol. No no check.

He looks like he had a hard night and proceeds outside with me. to the a/c . Dont leave these guys in your home alone. He proceeds to ask me to open gate and gets some freon from his truck. That is when he added freon. No leak check and aparently no training. It was to much. I could not tell till after he left with payment that it was bogging down my compressor and actually stopped the a/c from cooling at all. I call AHS and waited the 20 minutes again. 

They want a report from this crooked company and then will set me up with someone else. I am going to use my own a/c person and consider this a lesson learned. It is to hot in here to play with them. My cat will probably be dead by then. 

I consoider this a total ripoff. I will not renew and will try to recoup something. but it seems hopeless. You can't call and get anybody to help you. 

Oh by the way if you call and order warranty service they seem to get to you very quickly then, but if you talk to them they send you immediately to cu/// service. The same place. lol I just threw all this money in the trash.

Accurate Airconditioning, Dallas

American Home Shield authorized and sent out a couple of guys from this company (rated F by the Better Business Bureau).  They sent out a couple of guys in an unmarked pick up truck, no uniform, and smoking a cigarette. The initial report, diagnosis, and attempt to repair our A/C unit took over ten days (an unsafe, eternity in TEXAS HEAT).  The technicians finally spent  an afternoon tampering with the unit and left without repairing the A/C.  The only choice, at this point was to call  a reliable, trustworthy, A rated company who repaired the unit and the "ADDITIONAL DAMAGE" left behind.

Seriously, it's amazing how many people get scammed by Servicemaster / AHS.  Just as a general rule, that entire company is a big scam, but ALL HOME WARRANTIES ARE SCAMS.  This is exactly the standard operating procedure: they send an incompetent, low-ball technician, who agrees to work for AHS only because he has no other options, and they avoid paying for anything.  If you actually had to have your unit replaced, they would just find an excuse to not pay for it (preexisting damage, the exact failure mode not being covered, blah blah blah).  Many other warranty companies will just take your money and never answer the phone otherwise.  Seriously, take the money you would have spent on the "warranty", and put it in a savings account.  You'll be MUCH better off.
